Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: HZ neuralgia originating from the thoracic spine level and less than 1-month duration from onset, a chest skin herpetic eruption, age 18 years or older, pain intensity of 4 or greater on a numeric rating scale (NRS) despite taking medicine

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: who were taking anticoagulant medications, who had bacterial infections of the dermatome, those who was allergic to lidocaine, and those who had complicated pain such as a history of thoracic surgery
