Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with essential hypertension who volunteered to participate, aged above 18, diagnosed according to ICD-9 codes 401–401.9 were included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: We excluded those that failed or unable to sign informed consent; had mental disorders; had secondary hypertensionl; had a life expectancy less than 6 month; or blood pressuer>180/120 mmHg
