Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children of ASA physical status I and II, aged 4-10 year, scheduled for tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy at the Hong Hui Hospital, Xi'an Jiaotong University College of Medicine were enrolled in this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with upper respiratory tract infection, peritonsillar abscess, obesity, serious cardiovascular, respiratory and endocrine diseases and those known allergy to local anesthetics were excluded from the study.
