Interventions

1:Subtotal parathyroidectomy with remnant parathyroid tissue in 1-2 normal gland size
2:Near-total parathyroidectomy with 1/2 normal gland remnant and autotransplantation with 1 normal gland autograft
3:Total parathyroidectomy with autotransplanting parathyroid tissue in 1-2 normal gland size

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with end-stage renal disease on dialysis who had an indication for surgical treatment of SHPT, fulfilling one or more of the following criteria: (1) with severe symptoms; (2) high PTH levels (> 800 pg/mL); (3) the detection of one or more enlarged parathyroid gland (>500 mm3 or diameter greater than 1 cm); (4) hypercalcemia (> 4mmol/L) and/or hyperphosphatemia (>1.94mmol/L).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Kidney transplant patients; 2. Patients with severe skeleton deformity or bone deformities; 3. Patients with severe heart, lung, brain dysfunction and other systemic diseases; 4. Patients with severe coagulation dysfunction.
