Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All of the patients (first diagnosed without medication or drug withdrawal for more than one yr) aged 18 to 65 yr, based on 2016 American Thyroid Association Guidelines for diagnosis and management of hyperthyroidism and other causes of thyrotoxicosis: 1. symptoms of thyrotoxicosis (heat, sweating, heart palpitations, etc.); 2. diffuse goiter without nodular formation at ultrasound; 3. raised FT4 and FT3 levels with low TSH and the presence of TRAb in the serum (5 IU/L<TRAb<30 IU/L).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. previously undergone radioiodine 131 or thyroid surgery; 2. leukopenia (defined as a white blood cell count 2.5ULM, past severe liver diseases; 5. Women in pregnancy or lactation, or men and women who plan to have babies in 2 years (obtain womens negative pregnancy test and avoid pregnant); 6. Allergic to treatment7. Encounter any conditions that would prevent the patient from adhering to protocol.
