Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) admitted to West China Hospital for central venous dialysis catheterization were recruited from June to December 2018. The eligible subjects were fulfilled: 1. Aged 18–70 years; 2. Meeting one of indications as follows: whose arteriovenous fistula (AVF) was expected to be mature after more than 4 weeks; who need emergency hemodialysis; who was proposed kidney transplantation within 6 months to 1 year; who had limited life span such as advanced tumor; whose AVF or kidney transplantation is unpractical to perform, especially elderly patients; who had severe arterial vascular disease or low blood pressure that could not maintain AVF blood flow; who had recurrent heart failure attacks.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with severe heart and respiratory failure before operation; 2. mental disorders or unable to cooperate with the operator; 3. pre-existing medical devices such as pacemakers or infusion ports in central vein; 4. severe upper caval vein stenosis or occlusion; 5. unsigned informed consent; 6. or severe spinal or chest wall deformities will be excluded.
