Two cohorts:arthroscopic synovectomy of the knee joint combined with DMARDs and combinated DMARDs only

18 Years to 65 Years
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Rheumatoid arthritis who fulfilled the 1987 revised ACR criteria or 2010 ACR/EULAR criteria; 2) RA with symptomatic or ultrasonic/MRI knee synovitis for at least six months despite adequate medical treatment (DMARD monotherapy or combination, at least including MTX or leflunomide); 3) DAS28-ESR higher than or equal with 3.2; 4) Arthroscopic synovectomy of the knee is indicated; 5) Aged 18-65 years; 6) Patient informed consent is obtained.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients with abnormal laboratory tests (blood WBC 40U/L; creatinine clearance of less than 20ml/min/1.73m2); 2) Patients with severe and uncontrolled hypertension; 3) Patients with operative contraindication; 4) Women who are pregnancy or lactation; 5) Patients with a history of malignancy; 6) Patients who had acute or chronic infectious diseases, such as hepatitis B and active tuberculosis; 7) Knee synovitis due to other conditions; 8) Severe destruction of the joint with ACR III or more.
