Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1)community-dwelling individuals; (2) identified without dementia at baseline; (3) both sexes; (4) Aged 65 to 85 years; (5) able to manage and independent life without any mental disorder (cognitive or psychiatric) impeding daily functioning; (6) with reason able expectation of survival at a 5 year period, operationalized as absence of any severe disease at recruitment.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) dementia or severe cognitive deterioration, operationalized as Mini Mental Statement Examination (MMSE) (Folsteinetal., 1975) below 24 and functional activities questionnaire (FAQ) (Pfefferetal.,1982) scores below 6 at the baseline assessment; (2) history of neurological disease with clinically relevant impact on cognition (e.g., cerebrovascular disease); (3) severe psychiatric disorder; (4) incidental structural brain findings with impact on cognitive impairment or survival (e.g., malignant brain tumor); (5) presence of a severe systemic disease (e.g., cancer under treatment, malignanthy pertension, etc.); (6) problems for understanding spoken or written Chinese language.
