Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Stay in a nursing center for more than 3 months; (2) The GDS[48](Am J Nurs,2007) screening scores ranged from 11 to 26; (3) Voluntary participation in the study and signature of informed consent; (4) Having no problem with communication (such as,can speak fluent mandarin, or, his/her dialect can be understood by other participants or evaluators).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) With clinically visible severe depressive symptoms; (2) Receiving antidepressant or other treatment; (3) Had received the Psychological counseling one month before the intervention began; (4) Exclusion of those affected by major emotional events within 2 weeks according to the Life events scale.
