Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) aged more than 18-year-old; (2) MRI evidence of MESCC; (3) tissue-proven diagnosis of malignant tumor; (4) paralysis less than 42 hours; (5) neurological deficit due to MESCC.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) intradural metastases; (2) lesions were previously treated by surgery or radiotherapy; (3) pathological fracture in the lower limbs; (4) health too poor to undergo surgery; (5) lost to follow-up.
