Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All participants are male of Han ethinicity, middle school or above education degree, aged between 18 and 45 years old. 1. paranoid schizophrenia group: (1) Meeting the Diagnosticand Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth edition, criteria for a history of shcizophrenia; (2) taking hallucinations and delusions as the main clinical phases; (3) having no current or history of psychoactive substance abuse (except nicotine and alcohol); 2. persistent methamphetamine-associated psychosis: (1) experienced psychotic symptoms during at least one month when using methamphetamine and also during at least one month when not using the drug; (2) Regularly methamphetamine uesage for at least one year; (3) experienced psychotic symptoms during at least one month when not using the drug; 3. transient methamphetamine-associated psychosis: (1) Meeting the Diagnosticand Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth edition, criteria for a history of methamphetamine-associated psychosis; (2) Regularly methamphetamine usage for at least one year; (3) Experienced psychotic symptoms no more than one month when not using the drug; 4. methamphetamine dependence: (1) Meeting the Diagnosticand Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth edition, criteria for a history of methamphetamine dependence; (2) Regularly methamphetamine uesage for at least one year; (3) never experienced any psychotic symptoms; 5. Healthy controls: (1) Do not meet any criteria for psychosis in the Diagnosticand Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth edition; (2) without history of any psychosis; (3) without history of any psychoactive substance abuse.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. each group: (1) Organic mental disorders; (2) having a history of craniocerebral trauma/epilepsy; (3) previously receiving treatment of anti-psychotics; (4) having a history of immune system or endocrine diseases; (5) major somatic diseases (such as severe dysfunction of cardiac,kidney and liver); (6) having a history of AIDS; 2. methamphetamine group: (1) having a history of psychiatric illness before MA use or having visiting a doctor because of mental or psychological problems; (2) having a family history of psychotic disorders; (3) having a history of dependence of other drugs(except nicotine and alcohol).
