Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. patients with unilateral degenerative osteoarthritis of the knee according to diagnostic criteria for knee osteoarthritis (ICD-10 M17 .901); 2. normal preoperative hemoglobin (Hb) levels, normal coagulation function and renal function; 3. normal deep veins in the legs on color Doppler echography; and 4. stable concurrent chronic diseases, if any.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. patients with anemia; 2. patients with abnormal coagulation function; 3. patients with liver or kidney dysfunction; 4. pa-tients with a history of bleeding disorders; 5. patients with a history of deep vein thrombosis (DVT); 6. patients with hyper-coagulability or risk factors of thrombosis (e.g., atrial fibrillation, coronary stenting, tumors, or long-term use of hormones); and 7. patients with a known history of TXA hypersensitivity.
