Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The subjects who required fixed restorations, including full crowns, onlays, and fixed partial dentures, for posterior teeth, and had natural teeth adjacent and opposite to the tooth requiring restoration, and no serious chronic disease or chronic periodontal disease. Inclusion also required a full understanding of the study; voluntary participation, giving written informed consent, and attendance of all visits necessary to complete the process.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Subjects were excluded from the clinical trial if they had severe diabetes, severe gastrointestinal diseases, tumors, and other acute or chronic diseases; bad eating habits, such as eating particularly hard or sour food and drinking carbonated beverages; parafunctional chewing; acute and chronic temporomandibular synovitis; temporomandibular joint ankylosis; and other progressive organic lesions.
