Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Preoperative diagnosis included decompensated cirrhosis, severe esophageal/gastric varices, have upper gastrointestinal bleeding before, ASA grade II-III.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Preoperative complications included active upper gastrointestinal bleeding, hemoglobin (Hb) 200U/L, and severe cardiopulmonary insufficiency. Spontaneous hemorrhage, shock, mental illness or cognitive impairment, allergic to propofol or opiates.
