Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. CAD patients with hypertensive LVH who received PCI. Hypertensive LVH is defined by left ventricular mass index (LVMI); 2. Male and female adults aged 18-70 years; 3. Coronary stenosis > 70% before PCI performed, and < 20% after PCI, with no need for angioplasty; 4. Trimetazidine naive; 5. Provision of informed consent prior to any study specific procedures.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with utilization of trimetazidine, coenzyme Q10 or other medications which would affect cardiac metabolism; 2. Concomitant with other causes for left ventricular hypertrophy, such as aortic constriction, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and cardiac valvular disease; 3. Concomitant with other causes for myocardial ischemia, such as congenital heart disease, rheumatic heart disease, dilated cardiomyopathy; 4. Patients with severe pulmonary, liver and kidney dysfunction; 5. Patients with heart function classified as New York Heart Association III-IV; 6. Patients with atrial fibrillation; 7. Patients with previous or current cancer; 8. Patients with positive pregnancy test, lactating women and women of child-bearing potential not to use appropriate contraceptive measures; 9. Patients with life expectancy of 12 months or less.
