Gold Standard:1. MRC score < 48, lasting at least 24 hours
2. evidence of myasthenia in all examined limbs
3. the function of the brain nerve is intact (the ability to open eyes and make facial expressions).

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria (both met during ICU): infection or clinically highly suspected infection, in accordance with criteria 3. 0 for sepsis. A total of 120 cases are expected to be included. When qSOFA (respiratory frequency = 22 / min, change of consciousness and systolic blood pressure = 100mm Hg) = 2 for infected and suspected infected patients, further assessment should be made as to whether the patient has organ dysfunction or SOFA = 2. Sepsis can be diagnosed.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. pregnant or lactating women and under the age of 18; 2. the patients with difficulty in ultrasonic examination of limb skeletal muscle: those with limb operation or fracture fixation, limb amputation or severe burn; 3. it is expected to retain ICU less than 72h; 4. People with mental or physical movement disorders, as well as postoperative craniocerebral or spinal surgery; 5. long-term use of corticosteroids; 6. patients who took part in other studies within 30 days before the election; 7. because of the state of an irrevocable disease, such as the terminal stage of a malignant tumor or other disease; or a dying state that a physician considers imminent.
