Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: This randomized controlled study enrolled patients who were scheduled to undergo elective upper limb surgery, including tendon repair, fracture internal fixation, and flap transfer, at our hospital between February 2013 and July 2015. Patients were included: 1) if they had an American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status classification I or II; 2) if they were aged between 20 and 50 years; 3) if they had no known allergy to anesthetics; 4) if they had no history of heart, kidney and brain diseases.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) with chronic heart and lung diseases; 2) with obese (body mass index, BMI = 30 kg/m2); 3) refused to provide consent.
