Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Consistent with the design of a pragmatic trial, the inclusion criteria are intentionally broad to reflect the heterogeneity of clinical practice. Eligible participants will be: 1. Patients admitted to the oncology inpatient department for an anticipated length of stay of at least a week; 2. 18 years of age or older; 3. With confirmed pathological diagnosis of cancer; 4. Suffering from moderate or severe cancer pain (NRS=4) at admission or during the stay.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Contraindication to acupuncture (e.g., extreme needle phobia or severe clotting dysfunction); 2. Incapacity to consent (e.g., cognitive or communication impairment); 3. Risky medical condition (e.g., myocardial infarction, neutropenia).
