Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) preoperative ultrasonography or combined with fine needle biopsy showing clear and suspicious diagnosis, and preoperative parathyroid hormone and serum calcium within the normal ranges; (2) diagnosis of thyroid papillary carcinoma with the clinical need for surgery (thyroidectomy was performed for all patients); (3) definite diagnosis of thyroid cancer by postoperative pathology.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) preoperative B ultrasonography or CT imaging suggesting widespread metastases to the neck; (2) non-differentiated thyroid malignancies; (3) other malignancies or systemic diseases not tolerating surgery; (4) diseases that can reduce blood calcium levels such as acute pancreatitis, chronic renal insufficiency, vitamin D deficiency, and metabolic abnormalities.
