Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. clean simple lobectomy with systemic mediastinal lymphadenectomy; 2. the diameter of tumor varied from cT1a-2a (eighth edition of the TNM classification for lung cancer (10)) indicated by preoperative computed tomography (CT), without obvious mediastinal lymph node metastasis; 3. after VATS-L, the resected pulmonary lobe was taken out of the thorax cavity one-timely from the distal end of lesion and the proximal part of the lung vascular stumps; 4. the resected pulmonary lobe and its residual vessels keep intact during operation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. other resection procedures including wedge resection, bilobectomy, sleeve lobectomy, pneumonectomy, or first wedge resection and then lobectomy; 2. the diameter of tumor CT was beyond cT2a (eighth edition of the TNM classification for lung cancer (10)) indicated by CT or the possibility of mediastinal lymph node metastasis was considered; 3. the resected lung lobe could not be extracted from the thoracic cavity one-timely; 4. much bleeding resulted from the ruption of resected pulmonary lobe or residual vessels.
