Interventions

Dexmedetomidine group:Around 15 min before the end of surgery, the children received 0.5 µg/kg of intravenous dexmedetomidine over 10 min
Control group:Around 15 min before the end of surgery, the children received 10mL saline over 10 min

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients undergoing ENT surgery under general anaesthesia with sevoflurane, aged 2 to 7 years old, ASA I~II level.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: patients with a history of cardiac, renal or hepatic disease, psychological disorders, allergy to study medications, and any other contraindication for general anesthesia.
