Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria required that patients 1) aged > 18 years; 2) be diagnosed with thoracolumbar vertebral fresh fracture without corresponding nerve injuries (AO classification: type A or type B) and lumbar vertebral degenerative disease all of which had the indication of surgery of pedicle screw placement.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria included the patients 1) with whose pedicles there were variations; 2) accompanied by severe osteoporosis; 3)having comorbidities, such as serious systemic disease or coagulopathy, and unable to tolerate surgery; 4) having poor compliance; 5) refusing to sign informed consent.
