Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with RA who fulfilled the 1987 revised criteria of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) or 2010 ACR/EULAR classification criteria for RA; 2. Patients with moderate to high disease activity.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Relevant concurrent liver disease (aspartate aminotransferase >100 IU/L or alkalinephosphatase>100 IU/L), renal disease (serum creatinine>1.5 mg/dl), haematological disease (total white blood cell count <4×10^9/L, platelet count <100×10^9/L), or severe respiratory disease, malignancy, pregnancy, breast-feeding or plans to become pregnant, and psychological problems that would make adherence to the study protocol impossible.
