Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Consecutive patients who attended Zhengzhou Central Hospital, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University and First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Science and Technology for colonoscopy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) patients under the age of 18; (2) patients with gastrointestinal bleeding, advanced colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, polyposis syndromes,or previous surgical resection of any portion of the colon or rectum, (3) patients taking anti-platelet or anticoagulants medications; (4) patients referred for resection of a previously diagnosed colorectal polyp or treatment of any known colorectal lesion; (5) patients unable to provide informed consent. In addition, if the quality of bowel preparation was unsatisfactory (Boston Bowel Preparation Scale [BBPS] score < 2 in any segment of the colon), or if the cecum could not be intubated during the colonoscopy, patients were excluded.
