Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients aged 18-70 years; 2. diagnosed as penetrating eye injury; 3. will undergo pars plana vitrectomy; 4. with high risk of PVR (meet at least one of the following): (1) zone 3 penetrating eye injury; (2) zone 1 or zone 2 penetrating eye injury with retinal laceration in zone 3; (3) massive vitreous hemorrhage; (4) retinal disorder (part of or whole retina cannot be recognized by B-ultrasonography.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who was injured for more than 4 days; 2. with a history of ocular trauma; 3. those in which endophthalmitis or intraocular foreign body was diagnosed at the initial presentation; 4. those who will undergo early endoscopic vitrectomy due to severe corneal edema and opacity; 5. those who will undergo postponed pars plana vitrectomy due to severe corneal edema and opacity; 6. with massive choroidal hemorrhage diagnosed by preoperative B-scan; 7. those who cannot tolerate pars plana vitrectomy due to other systematic diseases.
