Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Preoperative colonoscopic pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of rectal adenocarcinoma; the inferior margin of the tumor was 0-12 cm from the anal margin; preoperative imaging examination excluded distant metastasis; according to the requirements of TMEaparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer; postoperative pathology) according to and follow-up data were complete.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Multifocal colorectal cancer; preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy; unresectable or palliative surgery; emergency surgery due to tumor obstruction, bleeding or perforation; simultaneous terminal ileostomy; severe underlying diseases.
