Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. aged 18 years or older and able to give written informed consent; 2. NYHA functional class II–IV;; 3. Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) = 40%; 4. plasma BNP =150 pg/mL (or NT-proBNP =600 pg/mL) at the screening visit or a BNP =100 pg/mL (or NT-proBNP =400 pg/mL) and a hospitalization for heart failure within the last 12 months.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. With symptomatic hypotension or a systolic blood pressure 5.2 mmol/L; 4. Unacceptable side effects of ACEI and ARB treatment.
