Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) older than 18 years old; (2) low back pain without leg pain for more than 3 months; (3) MRI indicating one or more lumbar discs with evidence of degenerative changes; (4) retaining at least 40% of normal disc height; (5) one or more lumbar discs confirmed using discography or disc block; (6) agree to participate in this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Abnormal neurological symptoms caused by other diseases, including radiculopathy, lumbar spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis and inflammatory arthritis.
