Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosis of the pyogenic abscess was proved by aspiration or microbiologic findings in all patients; 2. Multiloculated PLA more than 5 cm in size; 3. Multiloculated PLA in mature stage (a capsule was formed around the necrotic cavity).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Multiple abscess; 2. Abscess ruptured into thoracic and peritoneal cavity.
