60 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inpatients who aged from 60 - 80 years old, male or female, ASA I or II, and schedule to receive grade II~IV surgeries that are expected to take more than 2 hours, including orthopedic, urologic, general, thoracic, and gynecologic surgeries, will be eligible to be recruited to enter this program.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients or their guardians who do not consent to all of the conditions informed and refuse to sign on the INFORMED CONSENT will not enter this program. Other exclusion criteria are the patients who have a noncontrolled hypertension (SBP=180mmHg, DBP=100mmHg, or pulse pressure =60mmHg ) before surgery, are contraindicated to DEX application, ie sinus bradycardia, and atrioventricular block, et al., have severe anaemia, hypovolemia, or shock, have or prone to have mental diseases, are alcoholic or drug abused, or BMI >25 or <18 kg/m2. The cases in which the surgery takes less than 2 hours or the blood loss during the surgery is more than 1500 ml will also be excluded from the data analyses.
