Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Those presenting with the symptoms corresponding to the diagnostic criteria of lumbar spinal stenosis: (1) a history of chronic low back pain, and a history of trauma (in some patients); (2) manual workers aged over 40 years; (3) long-term repeated low back pain and intermittent claudication, alleviated low back pain in the position of forward flexion and aggravated low back pain in the position of backward extension, bilateral leg pain or alternative leg pain, low back and leg numbness and weakness, aggravated low back pain and intermittent claudication when standing and walking but improved after a rest, or frequent urination or dysuria even in severe cases; (4) lower-extremity muscle atrophy, decreased tendon reflex, low back extension test positive; (5) myelography, CT and MRI findings showed signs of lumbar spinal stenosis. 2. Age of 65-74 years; 3. Presence of neurological dysfunction corresponding to compression of the nerve root; 4. Provision of informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Participants with vasculogenic claudication; 2. Participants with lumbar disc herniation; 3. Participants with spondylolisthesis; 4. Participants with spinal tuberculosis; 5. Participants with ankylosing spondylitis; 6. Participants with rheumatoid arthritis; 7. Participants with spine fracture; 8. Participants with cancer.
