Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All patients were written informed consent was obtained. Patients defined by the age of 25~ 85 years, patients of either sex with American Society Anesthesiologists physical status I to II, and normal preoperative pulmonary function who were scheduled for elective open surgery with elderly, obese, one-lung ventilation and CO2-pneumoperitoneum were included into the prospective randomized study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients were excluded if they had a history of asthma and chronic obstructive lung diseases; recent bronchial infection (within 3 weeks); sleep apnea syndrome or body mass index (BMI) 35kg/m2, and present of a history of benzodiazeping or intracranial hypertension; lack of cooperative or cognitively incapable; recent incorporative with uncontrolled severe hypertension and cardiovascular diseases, liver or kidney dysfunction; history of second- or third-degree heart block and ischemic heart diseases.
