Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. AECOPD was diagnosed; 2. Blood gas analysis pH 7.25-7.35, PaCO2>50 mmHg.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Less than 18 years of age; 2. No informed consent was obtained; 3. Severe respiratory failure requiring tracheal intubation: RR > 40 times / min, severe hypoxia high concentration oxygen P/F was lower than 150, severe respiratory acidosis PH < 7.25, disturbance of consciousness GCS < 8; 4. NPPV contraindications: orofacial trauma, sputum expectoration ability, hemodynamic instability etc.; 5. Patients with short term prognosis,those with a high risk of death within 7 days,undergoing palliative care; 6. Other organs failure; 7. Tracheotomy has been performed.
