Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patients scheduled for laparoscopic colorectal surgery; aged 60~79 years; BMI 20~30.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria were diabetes mellitus or impaired glucose tolerance, medication affecting insulin sensitivity; weight loss greater than 10 percent during the previous 6 months; signs of distant metastasis; conditions (including pharmacological treatment) known to affect gastric emptying rate; accompanied by severe brain, heart, pulmonary, liver and kidney disease; with severe anemia and hypoalbuminemia. were not included.
