Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Agree with the consent form; 2) Aged >= 65years old male and female; 3) Undergoing selective high-risk noncardiac surgery under general anesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)With allergic history to a2 recepter agonist or dexmedetomidine; 2) With contraindication of dexmedetomidine,such as sick sinus syndrome, severe sinus bradycardia (< 50 beats per min [bpm]), or second-degree or greater atrioventricular block without pacemaker; known allergy or hypersensitivity to dexmedetomidine; 3) serious hepatic dysfunction (Child-Pugh class C),renal dysfunction; 4) A myocardial infarction within 7 days or an ejection fraction <40% or heart failure; 5) With an expected length of hospital stay of at least 24 hours.
