Age
23 Years to 42 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria were age between 18 and 45 years; have no serious primary disease in the cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, hepatic, renal or hematopoietic systems and lacked any history of psychiatric illness; with final diagnosis of ovarian endometrioma following laparoscopic surgery (histopathologic confirmation); stage III-IV endometriosis (endometriosis score higher than 15 points according to revised American Fertility Society (rAFS) classification); agree with the GnRH agonist therapy after operation. Patients were advised to use nonhormonal forms of contraception after the recruitment and throughout the treatment period.All women gave their written consent to take part of the study, as established in the study protocol approved by the local Ethical Committee. Before surgery, all patients were evaluated the sex hormone levels, and none of the patients had received hormone treatment in the six months preceding surgery.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The main exclusion criteria were: (1) a coexistence of adenomyoma or multiple uterine fibroids; (2)suspect or definitive of malignant tumor; (3) the use of medication that affect ovarian function within the last 6 months(oral contraceptive,GnRH analogs, danazol, etc); (4) diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, hyperprolactinemia, adrenal diasease; (5) patients who wanted to become pregnant immediately.
