Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: children of ASA physical status I-II, aged between 6 months and 12 years, scheduled to undergo auditory brainstem response examination will be enrolled in this prospective randomized controlled trial

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria include known allergy or hypersensitive reaction to DEX and MDZ, organ dysfunction and mental retardation.
