Recurrent urinary tract infections

Interventions

West-medicine Group:Levofloxacin (0.1 g QN, po) 4weeks + Furadantin (100mg, QN, po) 4 weeks + SMZ-CO (1pill, QN, po) 4 weeks
Or Cefuroxime (0.25g, QN, po) 4weeks if SMZ allergy
Very low doses of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM group based prescription 1/10 doses), 12weeks
TCM Group:Or ZiShen QingLi Decoction for 12 weeks if patients are deficient of Yin of Kidney

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Comply with the western medical diagnostic criteria of chronic urinary tract infection (recurrent urinary tract infection); 2. Comply with the TCM diagnostic criteria of urinary tract infection; 3. Aged 18-75 years; 4. Sign the informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. acute pyelonephritis or acute urinary tract infection occurred for the first time; 2. Deformity, stone or hydrops of urethra, detected by radiological examinations; 3. Urethral syndrome; 4. Chronic renal failure, serum creatinine=442 umol/L; 5. Pregnant or lactating (women at child-bearing period are requested to have urinary HCG test to detect pregnancy); 6. Allergic to the test drugs or ingredients of the TCM granules; 7. Severe damage of heart, liver or kidney, and other severe diseases including diabetes; 8. Severe central nervous system diseases.
