Shenmai injection group:After induction, SMI with a dose of 0.6 mL/kg dissolved in 250 mL of normal saline was administered intravenously before CPB at the speed of 10 mL/min

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Forty patients scheduled for cardiac surgery with CPB were selected. Enrollment criteria included American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status II–III, aged 40 years to 69 years, body mass index 18 kg/m2 to 29kg/m2, left ventricular ejection fraction=0.3, the Beijing version of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA –BJ) scores=26.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with known diabetes mellitus, hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, pulmonary disease, neurological disease, mental disorder, renal insufficiency, liver dysfunction, infective endocarditis or previous coronary heart disease were excluded.
