40 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients were required to meet the following enrollment criteria: 1. aged 40 to 80 years old; 2. acute onset of stroke within 48 hours and beyond time window for tissue Plasminogen Activator (t-PA) treatment; 3. atherothrombotic subtype of stroke with cortical lesion; 4. and no previous statin use.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion was based upon patients with any of the following: the presence of some complicated diseases including renal failure, malignancy, thyroid dysfunction and autoimmune disease.
