Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 100 patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes, according to WHO diagnostic criteria (1999), who had not received previous antihyperglycaemic therapy, were enrolled from Department of endocrinology of Affiliated Hospital of Jiangsu University between September, 2012, and December, 2013. The patients aged 25–70 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients were excluded if they had acute or severe chronic diabetic complications,severe intercurrent illness, or tested positive for glutamic acid decarboxylase antibody. Patients with maturity onset diabetes in youth andmitochondria diabetes mellitus were excluded.
