Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria for patients were as following: 1) The diagnosis of AP was established according to the revised Atlanta classification of acute pancreatitis; 2) the age was defined as 18-75 years old; 3) The patients were conscious and willing to accept the treatment of EA; 4) Patients hospitalized within 48 hours of symptom onset were enrolled; 5) No other severe underlying diseases were noticed.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: The cases with any following conditions should be excluded: 1) Patients in the course of menopause syndrome; 2) Patients who refused to accept blood test; 3) Depression or other mental disorder patients, pregnant or lactating women; 4) AP resulting from trauma, surgery, cancer, pregnancy, and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatograghy (ERCP).
