Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 200 children of ASA I-II, aged 4-10 year, scheduled for tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy were enrolled in this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: upper respiratory tract infection, cardiac conduction anomalies, electrolyte abnormalities, liver or kidney disease, hypersensitivity to dexamethasone, peritonsillar abscess.
