Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with hepatocellular carcinoma scheduled for elective liver resection; 2. At least 18 years of age; 3. To be willing to assign informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. The subject is not willing to consent to randomization to the routine nasogastric decompression vs. no routine nasogastric decompression group; 2. those with metastatic disease, gastric outlet; obstruction, tumor infiltration into the stomach, previous gastric surgery were excluded.
