Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. All patients undergoing a c-VATS (bi-)lobectomy or an open thoracotomy; 2. Without cruor function; 3. Without hypoproteinemia before and after the operation; 4. Absence of extensive adhesions or visceral pleural disruption; 5. No postoperative hemorrhage.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. lobectomies with chest wall resections; 2. intrapericardial resections; 3. those with heart failure, nephritic syndrome, chronic renal failure and cirrhosis; 4. patients in whom the surgeon expected increased postoperative hemorrhage, such as hematological system diseases and pleural extensive adhesion; 5. prolonged air leak (air leakage that lasted more than 6 days was considered prolonged air leakage); 6. a densely bloody, purulent, or cloudy pleural effusion; 7. adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events.
