Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 200 of ASA physical status I-II children, aged 4-10 year scheduled for tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy were enrolled in this double-blinded study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria included a history of diabetes, cardiac conduction anomalies, electrolyte abnormalities, liver or kidney disease, hypersensitivity to ropivacaine, history of chronic pain, and regular analgesic use within 1 week of surgery, peritonsillar abscess and obesity.
