Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. subjects should have subjective memory complaints as examined by an abbreviated memory inventory for the Chinese; 2. objective memory impairment is measured by a composite memory score derived from the Alzheimer's Disease Assessment Scale-Cognitive subscal (ADAS-Cog), MCI subjects hsould have a memeory score of <=1.5 SD of the not demented subjects (CDR0); 3. the subjects should have relatively intact activities of daily living; 4. absence of AD.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: The individuals with a diagnosis of dementia or AD, notable cognitive impairment (score of 23 or less as evidenced by CMMSE), current psychiatric disorder (e.g. depressive episode), malignancy, clinical history of stroke associated with permanent disability, history of alcohol or drug abuse, or history of bleeding disorder, or currently acupuncture/taking drug for cognitive problems, or currently treated with medications, affecting cognition or other serious illnesses e.g. clinically significant, active gastrointestinal, renal, hepatic, respiratory, infectious, endocrine, or cardiovascular system disease will be considered as ineligible. The illiteracy or patients who meet difficulty in reading and understanding study questionnaire are also excluded.
