Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 70 patients, 18–59 years of age, ASA I-II, who required general anaesthesia with nasotracheal intubation for maxillary and/or mandibular fracture surgery, were enrolled.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who complicated with basal skull fracture, respiratory infection, nasal malformation, mental disorders, and smoking history and had gastroesophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, esophageal disease and pharyngeal and epiglottic tumors were excluded.
