Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. a diagnosis of MDD (not bipolar disorder)without drugs; 2. aged 18-65 years; 3. an HDRS (Hamilton Depression Rating Scale) Score >=20; 4. right handed; 5. written consent was signed.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. schizophrenia,bipolar disorder,schizoid personality disorder,alchol and drugs abuse; 2. the suicidal; 3. history of epilepsy or other neurological illness,head trauma,diabetes,hypothyroidism,serious physical illness; 4. duration of pregnancy; 5. left handed; 6. taking material or drug abuse; 7. history of ECT; 8. history of TMS; 9. cardiac pacemaker or intracranial metal implants.
