Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The patients enrolled in this study are males diagnosed with primary gout and being in chronic gout. Our diagnosis standards of primary gout and chronic gout were based on the criteria for the classification of primary gout revised by the American College of Rheumatology in 1977. In addition, patients included should have a serum UA level >=480umol/L, age 18 to 60 years old, voluntarily join the trial, and agree to sign an informed consent certificate.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients were excluded from the study if they were in any of the following situations: diagnosed as acute gouty arthritis, gouty stone or secondary gout, had taken medicines to reduce UA levels within 2 weeks before the study, had a serum creatinine level >=133umol/L, had urinary calculi, had a serious organ dysfunction, had mental illness or cancer, had a body mass index >=50kg/m2, and were alcoholic.
